PLANNING

For the planning of our documentary we drew a storyboard on our opening title sequence to see how it was going to look.

Next we drew a single frame of each interview and how we hoped it was going to turn out to be. This helped us to get an idea of the mise-en-scene that we needed for each interview and the type of shot we would use.

Elaine Smith, the skin specialist will be filmed in her place of work, there are separate treatment room so we will film her in one of these to get the mise-en-scene of all of the skin products in the background.

Hannah Jones, the aspiring makeup artist will be set in her room with all of her current makeup on a desk beside her.

Stephanie Wier, the freelance makeup artists will have her interview in her house so we will have to use her makeup and portfolio in the background to create the mise-en-scene.

When interviewing Jake Lasnier, our male makeup wearer, we don't want to force the mise-en-scene on our audience so we may just have a small amount of male products in the background.

Filming Addie Jones in the Body shop will be in the stock room at the back of the shop because they are unable to turn the music off on the shop floor. This still has really good mise-en-scene though because there are shelfs of body shop products in the background. We will have her to the left so that these are visible.

As we cannot film Chloe Bastow, the Clinique Manager in the shop, we are going to film her in her home. To create the mise-en-scene we are going to place Clinique products on the desk next to her and have her in her work uniform to create these mise-en-scene.
